POSITION SUMMARY

We're looking for an enthusiastic Activities Assistant to help create in creating unforgettable moments for our seniors.
Starting Pay and Position Information:
$19.00 - $22.80 per hour depending on experience. Weekend differential.
Must work some weekends - every third weekend or as assigned.
Must have current MN Nursing Assistant Registry status or be willing to become a Registered Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Essential Functions Statement(s)
Plan and organize daily, weekly, and monthly activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities (both individual and group activities).
Facilitate group events like bingo, crafts, music therapy, exercise classes, and themed parties.
Coordinate and accompany residents on outings and special celebrations.
Encourage resident participation and foster a sense of community
Collaborate with nursing and care staff to ensure activities are inclusive and safe.
Maintain activity calendars and track attendance.
Ascertain and interpret individual and group interests, evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to meet participant needs.
Evaluate resident response to activities and services to determine if they are producing desired results of enriching their lives.
Provide for entertainment and set up/take down related decorations and equipment.
Skills and Experience:
Creativity, patience, and a sense of humor
Ability to work with seniors in a kind and respectful way
Willingness to jump in, whether it’s decorating for a luau or helping with a puzzle
A warm, energetic personality with a genuine love for seniors
Strong communication and organizational skills
Problem solving ability
Independent and proactive thinker and doer
Experience in recreation, hospitality, or elder care is a plus

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Computer Skills: Basic skills to assist residents with computer use and to document in software programs and Electronic Health Record used in the facility.
Certifications & Licenses:
Current MN Nursing Assistant Registry status.
Current driver’s license
