Advanced Optometric Technician
Eyes on 45th
Eyes on 45th is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented professional to join our team. This position will primarily oversee and coordinate our Envision by InMode dry eye treatment program, offered exclusively within our practice.
This advanced treatment has delivered excellent outcomes for patients suffering from chronic dry eye symptoms. The selected candidate will conduct patient evaluations, assist in developing treatment plans under the direction of our optometrists, and administer treatments accordingly. This role also includes patient pre-testing responsibilities and collaboration with doctors and team members to support education and promotion of this specialized service.
Eyes on 45th is a three-doctor, independent optometric practice with a full-service retail optical. Our clinic is fast-paced and serves a combination of medical and vision patients. All team members contribute across departments to ensure a seamless patient experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a CNA, LPN, experienced optician, or optometric technician seeking to grow within a progressive and patient-focused practice.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct patient intake, including medical history and preliminary assessments
Perform evaluations for patients interested in the Envision by InMode dry eye treatment
Administer treatments under the direction of an optometrist
Perform pre-testing as ordered by the doctor
Assist optometrists during examinations as needed
Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, eyewear options, and post-exam care
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Utilize EMR systems (e.g., Crystal, Availity) to manage patient records
Support front desk operations, including scheduling and patient flow, as needed
Collaborate with opticians in recommending and supporting retail optical sales
Contribute to team marketing efforts for advanced treatment services
Qualifications
Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting required
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Experience with EMR systems required
Knowledge of optical or ophthalmic testing preferred
Excellent patient care skills and ability to maintain HIPAA compliance
Strong communication skills with patients of all ages, including pediatrics
Knowledge of aseptic technique preferred
Experience with vision coding, billing, and optical sales is a plus
