Position: Assembler
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00am - 4:30pm
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: Starting at $20.00/hour + Full Benefits Package
Location: Jamestown, ND
Job Summary:
Assembles metal products, partially or completely, according to knowledge of the unit or following blueprints, diagrams, layouts, or oral instruction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed slips, rivets, or other fasteners.
• Removes small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.
• Operates various machines and tools such as drill presses, compressed air driven hand grinders, drills and impact wrenches to assist in assembly operation.
• Verifies position of metal components in assembly, using straightedge ruler, tape measure and combination square.
• Operates pneumatic, electric, or manual overhead chain hoists to properly move heavy parts into position for assembly.
• Operates forklift to move machine parts to other locations of the assembly operations.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings.

• Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing.
• Must have the ability to work rapidly and under pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements.
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials, processes, and specifications preferred.
• Mechanical experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
• Must be able to see details at close range.
• Must be able to lift 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Must be able to navigate facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, bending, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
• Wear and work in personnel protective equipment.
Work Environment:
• Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level is moderate to loud.
• Frequently exposed to airborne particles.
• Exposure to heat/humidity during summer months.
