Job Description
Assistant Director of Operations
Jackson Dental Professionals | Belle Fourche, SD
Jackson Dental is growing, and we are looking for a high-capacity leader to step into a key operational role within our organization.
This is not a traditional office manager position. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow into senior leadership and play a direct role in how a high-performing, clinically driven practice operates.
You do not need a dental background to apply.
You do need to be someone who can lead people, think in systems, and handle complexity with confidence.
Who This Role Is For
You may be a strong fit if you come from:
- Dental or clinical roles (hygienist, dental assistant, treatment coordinator) and are ready to grow beyond patient care
- Healthcare operations (medical, PT, vision, surgery centers) with experience managing teams and patient flow
- Practice management or office leadership in a fast-paced environment
- Retail or service leadership where you’ve led teams, owned performance metrics, and driven results
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Naturally identifies inefficiencies and wants to fix them
- Is comfortable leading and coaching others
- Can balance people, process, and performance
- Wants more responsibility and long-term growth
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Director of Operations to lead and support daily practice operations
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, patient experience, and team performance
- Help implement systems that support clinical and operational success
- Track and interpret key metrics to guide decision-making
- Support team development through coaching, accountability, and communication
- Facilitate team meetings and contribute to a strong, aligned culture
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders across the practice
What We’ll Teach You
You don’t need to come in knowing dentistry.
We will provide structured training so you can:
- Understand clinical workflows and procedures
- Learn how operations and clinical care work together
- Build confidence in making decisions that support both patients and the team
What Matters Most
- Proven leadership experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to navigate a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Ownership mindset and follow-through
- Willingness to learn and grow into a larger leadership role
Qualifications
- Previous leadership or management experience required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required with relevant experience
- Experience in healthcare, dental, or service-based industries is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $60,000–$100,000 based on experience and leadership capability
- Health insurance
- 401(k) with match
