Position Summary:
The Assistant Kitchen Cook supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, assisting in cooking meals, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring that food is prepared to quality standards. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to learn and grow in the culinary field.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with food prep including chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning
Support cooks in preparing and plating dishes during service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
Assist in unloading and storing food deliveries
Wash dishes and kitchen equipment as needed
Ensure prep areas are stocked and ready for service
Perform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager
Qualifications:
Previous kitchen or food service experience is a plus, but not required
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Strong communication and time management skills
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
