Gast Construction is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team in Fargo, ND. This position plays a critical role in the preconstruction phase, helping to ensure project success by delivering accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, for a wide range of construction projects.

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes, ensuring accuracy and competitive pricing.

• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and align on project goals.

• Assist in developing value engineering options to reduce project costs without compromising quality or performance.

• Maintain a database of historical cost data and industry pricing trends to improve estimate accuracy.

• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid presentations as needed.

• Identify risks and opportunities within project scope and make recommendations for mitigation strategies.

• Support hand-off to project management teams upon award of contract, ensuring a smooth project start-up.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an estimator in the commercial construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.

• Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
