Description
Under the supervision of the First Call Supervisor, the Dispatcher receives and coordinates all incoming radio and telephone communications concerning medical transport. Is knowledgeable about the mission and roles for both air and ground transport. Receives and coordinates requests for transfers to Trinity Hospital from other facilities. The Dispatcher will be organized in order to provide prompt and efficient flow of information to all aspects of transport. Performs all assigned duties and tasks with a calm and professional demeanor, maintaining outstanding customer service in accordance with the ServiceFIRST principles.
Qualifications
• Licenses and Certifications Required • None. • Educational Requirements • High School diploma or GED preferred. • Experience Requirements • Previous experience in EMS or equivalent medical training preferred; call center/dispatch center experience preferred. • Special Skills or Training Requirements • Communication skills, manual dexterity, visual and hearing acuity, legible handwriting, efficient with various computer applications, self-motivated, goal oriented, and the ability to work independently without close supervision. • Must be able to multi-task including phones, visitors into the communication center and other distractions. Must be able to organize efficiently and prioritize effectively.
