As District Food Service Manager, you will provide leadership and operational oversight for food service across Petro Serve USA locations. This position is responsible for developing Food Service Managers, driving sales and profitability, maintaining consistent food quality and safety standards, and ensuring successful execution at each location.

About the Role

The District Food Service Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for the overall performance and consistency of Petro Serve USA’s food service operations.

You’ll spend significant time in our stores working directly with Food Service Managers and their teams to improve operations, develop employees, maintain food quality and safety standards, control costs, and identify opportunities to grow sales and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to Food Service Managers across assigned locations.
  • Drive food service sales, gross margin, and profitability in accordance with company budgets and goals.
  • Monitor food costs, waste, inventory, labor, and other key performance measures and take action when results are not meeting expectations.
  • Train, coach, and develop Food Service Managers and their teams.
  • Set clear expectations and hold Food Service Managers accountable for operational and financial performance.
  • Ensure consistent food preparation, portioning, presentation, quality, and product availability across locations.
  • Conduct and document regular store visits and monthly food service inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with company food safety, sanitation, handling, and operational standards.
  • Ensure locations comply with applicable health, fire, and safety regulations and promptly address inspection findings or violations.
  • Verify required ServSafe certifications are current and properly maintained.
  • Communicate budgets, sales and margin results, waste performance, promotions, policies, procedures, and company initiatives to Food Service Managers.
  • Monitor product and vendor costs to maintain appropriate margins and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work with vendors on pricing, product issues, new products, promotions, and order guides.
  • Coordinate food service equipment repairs, maintenance, and replacement as needed and within company approval guidelines.
  • Protect company assets, including equipment, fixtures, food inventory, and supplies.
  • Monitor competitors for pricing, products, promotions, and food service trends and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Keep the Retail Operations Manager informed of significant operational issues, performance concerns, and trends.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous food service management experience preferred.
  • Multi-location, restaurant, convenience store, or retail food service experience is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-development skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales, margins, food costs, waste, and other performance measures.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to establish expectations and hold managers accountable for results.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and food-handling requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between Petro Serve USA locations.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple locations and priorities.

Position Requirements

  • Regular travel to Petro Serve USA locations, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Complete a minimum half-day visit at each assigned location monthly, including required inspections and reporting.
  • Spend approximately two days per month at the corporate office for meetings and administrative responsibilities.
  • Schedule flexibility based on operational needs, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments and around commercial cleaning products.
