Position Overview

We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our Bemidji service team. In this role, you’ll perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has solid mechanical experience, takes pride in quality work, and enjoys being part of a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck and trailer systems, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, electrical, and air systems.

  • Perform truck and trailer alignments

  • Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.

  • Assist tire service team as needed.

  • Document repairs and maintain accurate service records.

  • Operate diagnostic tools and follow all safety procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with the service team and customers to ensure timely and accurate repairs.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck and/or trailer repair (will consider experienced automotive techs looking to advance).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.

  • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).

  • Own basic set of tools (some specialty tools provided).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DOT inspections and fleet maintenance programs.

  • Minor welding and fabrication experience.

  • ASE or other industry certifications (a plus but not required).
