Position Overview
We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy-Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our Bemidji service team. In this role, you’ll perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has solid mechanical experience, takes pride in quality work, and enjoys being part of a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair heavy-duty truck and trailer systems, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, electrical, and air systems.
Perform truck and trailer alignments
Perform preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
Assist tire service team as needed.
Document repairs and maintain accurate service records.
Operate diagnostic tools and follow all safety procedures.
Communicate effectively with the service team and customers to ensure timely and accurate repairs.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck and/or trailer repair (will consider experienced automotive techs looking to advance).
Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
Own basic set of tools (some specialty tools provided).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DOT inspections and fleet maintenance programs.
Minor welding and fabrication experience.
ASE or other industry certifications (a plus but not required).
