All internships are paid full-time summer of 2026 positions.
Summary of Work
Our team takes care of a wide range of responsibilities, including highway construction, engineering, and administration, as well as roadway, bridge, and roadside maintenance. We also handle traffic engineering, highway sign maintenance, materials testing, equipment and vehicle upkeep, and the operation of rest areas and visitor centers.
This internship will provide you a quality experience with construction inspection, survey and field office work. You will also conduct field sampling and testing of construction materials and interpret plans for the projects you are working on. Additionally, you will learn the skills of computing quantities, documentation of project records, preparing project pay quantity reports, and become familiar with progressive estimates. We utilize MicroStation and you will develop your knowledge and skill base with it too. You will work closely with project engineers and we will provide you an experience that will prepare you for a career as a civil/construction engineer.
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be enrolled in an engineering technology or civil/construction engineering undergraduate degree program.
• Requires ability to lift and carry a total weight of up to 50 pounds.
• Possession of a valid Class D Driver’s License for travel within the state of North Dakota.
Requires satisfactory completion of the interview process and successful completion of a job function screening.
