Join Our Team as a Kitchen Cook/ Supervisor
Farmstead Living is seeking a dedicated FT Kitchen Cook / Supervisor to join our team. This role combines hands-on food preparation with leadership responsibilities to ensure smooth kitchen operations and uphold our commitment to quality, safety, and resident satisfaction.
FT hours available, with ability to work weekends and holidays.
Daily Mealtimes are at 8:30 am, 12:00pm, 5:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all meals are appealing, properly portioned, and served on schedule.
- Accommodate resident preferences and special dietary needs as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area throughout the shift.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature control.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including ServSafe requirements.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and used safely.
- Monitor and document required kitchen logs (temperatures, cleaning records, etc.).
Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide clear direction and support to kitchen staff during assigned shifts.
- Assist with training new team members on procedures, safety, and resident-centered service.
- Collaborate with nursing, activities, and leadership teams to support resident needs.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook in healthcare, hospitality, or a similar setting preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and dietary requirements.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead a team with professionalism, kindness, and respect.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain (training assistance may be provided).
