Description
Registered Out Reach patients in the computer system and ordered laboratory tests. General office duties as well as answering clerical and billing questions for clients. Knowledge and able to explain CPT and ICD 10 coding as needed to correctly submit a record of reimbursement. Works with the Business Office and sends monthly statements to clients.

Job duties
Register patients for all incoming outreach samples, determining the correct billing procedure, reviewing billing information for completeness, and obtaining missing information as needed for the final billing process. Monitor compliance rules for ABN for Medicare, Medicaid Expansion, Sanford Medicaid, I.H.S., and BCBS insurances needing ABN. ND Medicaid failing tests requires additional diagnosis for any ORS registration from the client. Check all paper requests in the Medical Necessity checker prior to order entry for the above insurance listed #2. Manually check BCBS in the book. Accurately transcribes test orders from the paper requisitions to eCARE. Review all outreach requisitions for accuracy relating to tests ordered and the location. Accurately assign a location to registration for the client to report to the facilities. Answer the telephone in a courteous and informed manner, always identifying oneself. Prep requisitions and ABN for scanning, send to HIM daily. Is knowledgeable about CPT and ICD 10 coding as needed to correctly submit records for reimbursement. Send out a monthly bill to outreach clients, checking for accuracy of pricing and balances. Making corrections as needed. Interact with the business office and HIM coding to resolve any problems related to outreach billing. Accept packages from outside couriers. Unpack specimens and verify the patient information on the specimen to request. Prepares for courier transplant to hospital for testing. Package and ship supplies to outreach clients as needed. Cover Lead Reimbursement Specialist duties in their absence. Accurately review previous day requests for patient information, contract vs ORS billing, location, physician, test ordered, and billing compliance for ABN. Daily work of inbound errors and suspended charges as needed. Rebill of pathology professional charges to ORS encounters from contract registration. Post charges to the contract for the Technical Director. Adherence to all of Trinity Health policies and procedures, including regular, timely, and consistent attendance etc. Assigned duties from the Clerical supervisor as needed
Licenses and Certifications Required :

Educational Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
Office/clerical experience required, preferably billing or insurance claim processing.
Computer experience required.
Special Skills or Training Requirements:
Communication skills are required.
The ability to type quickly and accurately is required.
Medical terminology and coding knowledge are helpful, but not required.
