Position Title: Scrum Master
Location: Kennesaw, GA
Summary
The Scrum Master facilitates Agile practices across product teams to ensure smooth sprint execution and effective collaboration among all Agile stakeholders, including Business Product Owners, Technical Product Owners, Development, and QA/Test teams. This role is essential for enabling high-performing teams, removing delivery obstacles, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation
Lead Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
Ensure all ceremonies are purposeful, time-boxed, and focused on outcomes.
Promote Agile best practices tailored to the insurance industry.
Impediment Removal
Shield the team from external distractions and interruptions.
Identify and resolve blockers that hinder sprint progress.
Escalate critical issues to leadership or cross-functional teams as needed.
Delivery Coordination
Collaborate with Product Owners (Technical, Tracking & Compliance, Insurance & Underwriting) to maintain a clear and prioritized backlog.
Monitor sprint metrics such as velocity, burndown, and cycle time.
Coordinate cross-team dependencies, especially between RiskSecure and Lender Placed Insurance teams.
Stakeholder Engagement
Facilitate communication between development teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
Ensure transparency around progress, risks, and changes.
Educate stakeholders on Agile principles and delivery timelines.
Continuous Improvement
Foster a culture of learning, feedback, and experimentation.
Lead retrospectives that drive actionable improvements.
Promote continuous feedback loops across teams and stakeholders.
Other Duties
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
8+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 4 years in systems analysis, programming, or team leadership.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile facilitator in a Scrum or SAFe environment.
Professional certification preferred (e.g., PSM, SSM, PMI-ACP).
Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks and Scrum ceremonies.
Proven experience with enterprise system implementations in geographically dispersed organizations.
Technical proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Python, JavaScript) and related frameworks.
Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with version control (Git), technical documentation, and productivity tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365).
Leadership Responsibilities
This position does not have direct reports but requires strong leadership and influence across cross-functional teams. The Scrum Master will guide teams in areas such as requirements gathering, prioritization, product delivery, and process optimization.
