Job Description

K2 Construction is looking for an experienced Shop Manager for our location in Lincoln, Nebraska. This Leadership position includes overseeing the maintenance department to improve equipment repairs and reduce downtime. This experienced individual will direct the activities of shop team members in performing repairs, including meeting time schedules and productivity levels while maintaining high quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them.
  • Hire, train, motivate, and monitor the performance of all shop team members.
  • Conducts meetings with the shop team members to discuss activities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the shop.
  • Directs and schedules the work of all shop team members.
  • Observes and evaluates the abilities of the technicians.
  • Monitors technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
  • Monitors progress and completion of vehicles in the shop, ensuring that proper repair and safety procedures are followed.
  • Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks.
  • Conducts periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
  • Understands and enforces OSHA standards along with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitors paper flow to ensure that all documents are accounted for, filled out completely and legibly, and filed or distributed to the appropriate parties.
  • Maintaining equipment records
  • Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items.
  • Ensures that proper safety equipment is available and being used properly.
  • Facilitates and/or conducts technical training and sends team members to appropriate training schools as needed.
  • Monitors the maintenance of all equipment.
  • Maintains shop, equipment, tools, vehicle, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items.
  • Attends managers’ meetings as requested.

Additional Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • Manages team members in the Shop Department.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit.
  • Carries out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Appraise performance; reward, recognize, and discipline team members.
  • Address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Strive for and promote service.
  • Continuous improvement, and team member involvement.

Experience:

  • 5 or more years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair (Required)
  • 1 or more years of experience in a management or supervision role (Required)
  • Microsoft skills
