Smog Technician / Diagnostic Technician

Trustlane Automotive is looking for a licensed Smog Technician who is confident, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, professional shop. This role is ideal for a technician who knows their craft, takes ownership of their work, and wants to be rewarded for performance.
Position Requirements
- Valid California Smog Technician License
- Strong ability to diagnose and repair emissions-related and drivability issues
- Solid understanding of OBD-II systems and engine/emissions controls
- Able to self-manage — no micromanagement, no hand-holding
- Works with urgency while maintaining accuracy and safety
- Organized, accountable, and consistent in daily production
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
What You’ll Be Doing
- Performing California smog inspections accurately and efficiently
- Diagnosing vehicles that fail smog tests
- Completing emissions and related mechanical repairs when needed
- Clearly documenting inspection results and repair recommendations
- Working with a team that values speed, communication, and respect
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- No weekends
Compensation
- $60,000 – $110,000+ annual earning potential
- Production-based (flat-rate) pay
