POSITION SUMMARY
The Strategic Sourcing & Inventory Manager oversees supplier sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control to ensure cost-effective operations. This role manages vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, and maintains accurate ERP records while optimizing inventory levels. By analyzing data and implementing process improvements, the manager supports reliable supply chains and efficient operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for products and services.
- Negotiate prices, contracts, and delivery timelines with vendors.
- Issue and verify purchase orders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues related to quality, pricing, or delivery.
- Track and monitor inventory levels to meet operational needs without overstocking.
- Manage inventory databases and use ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
- Analyze purchasing and inventory data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Implement process improvements in procurement and inventory management.
- Identify cost-effective and efficient product alternatives.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
| Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience: - High school diploma required.
- Bachelor degree in business administration or a related field strongly preferred.
- 3+ years in sourcing, purchasing, and/or vendor management required.
- Firetruck knowledge preferred.
- General knowledge of contract law, import/export regulations, and ethical sourcing standards preferred.
- Knowledge of supply chain risks (such as geopolitical instability, supplier financial distress, etc) and ability to build resilient sourcing strategies preferred.

| Skills: Language: - Ability to conduct spend analysis, evaluate supplier proposals, monitor key performance indicators and appropriate inventory levels.
- Strong negotiation skills employed to secure optimal pricing, favorable term and high-quality deliverables from suppliers.
- Clear and persuasive communication skills to effectively manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Cross-functional collaboration across internal departments such as finance, legal, and engineering.
- Ability to lead and manage large scale sourcing initiatives.
- Can build business cases to support sourcing decisions.
Math: - Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Computer: - Able to perform intermediate PC functions in Microsoft Office Suite and MAS 500.
