Job Description

The Groundskeeper performs landscaping tasking using equipment and hand tools to maintain the facilities grounds.

· Must be able to work with people or work alone without immediate supervision.

· Must be able to meet physical needs of basic grounds maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Upkeep of grounds, removal of weeds, watering, trash removal and other assignments.

· Work safely abiding by all the Facilities Safety Policies and Procedures. Familiarizes self with and adheres to all facility and department safety policies and procedures.

· Completes all required safety training.

· Supports and implements safety into all job responsibilities regarding self, other employees, residents/patients and visitors.

· Reports safety violations (or unsafe observances) to supervisor and/or department head immediately.

· Promotes a culture of safety to improve employee safety within the facility and/or the department.

· Ability to work with staff.

· Ability to follow directions.

· Safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI) in any form including electronic, written or verbal.

· Professional attitude, leadership role and team member abilities. Maintains a positive professional role throughout the facility and community.

· Maintain the security of company-assigned devices by adhering to IT security protocols, including timely installation of updates, use of strong passwords, and compliance with all cybersecurity policies.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, as well as sharps, hazardous materials, and other conditions common to the operation of a physical plant and health care facility.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent full range of body motion in handling and lifting supplies and equipment, along with bending, stooping, and stretching in the performance of the maintenance and installation of equipment. Manual and finger dexterity along with eye-hand coordination is needed in said work. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Requires vision and hearing to normal range in the communication with the staff and with site and equipment inspections. Must be able to distinguish colors, letters, and symbols.
